Taipei Film Commission's 13th Annual "Filming Taipei" Screenplay Competition is Open for Entries! - Taipei Film Commission

This competition aims to encourage talented screenwriters to create outstanding film screenplays incorporating Taipei City people, stories, history, or places. The Taipei Film Commission’s professional network provides opportunities for the production of cinematic scripts, thereby inspiring more film productions that capture Taipei City’s charms.



There are no thematic restrictions on works submitted for this year’s competition. Anyone interested in script writing is invited to dream up an original Taipei story in order to overcome the type of limitation and to make connections between Taipei’s past and its future. Different techniques and methods can be used to present images of Taipei and so create much sought-after remarkable images and stories from memories.

Entries are accepted from screenwriters of all nationalities, but the screenplay must be written in Traditional Chinese. If the original screenplay is written in any language other than Chinese, a Traditional Chinese translation must be submitted.

We are looking for talented emerging film screenwriters, and we want to read your script! The first prize winner will receive NT$400,000 in cash.

Submissions are accepted between May 3, 2021 and July 2, 2021.
