The Moment Features the Biggest Stars of Chinese-language Cinema - Taipei Film Commission
Cloud of Romance is a novel by Chiung Yao. Its film adaptation starring Brigitte Lin was released in 1977.
The Moment is the latest film from director Yang Li-chou, who has worked on the film for two years. It is his love letter to Taiwan’s audience that spans the history of Taiwanese cinema of the past 50 years. Several test screenings have been held for The Moment, which has touched the hearts of young and old filmgoers alike. With such word of mouth, The Moment is expected to open in Taiwan at more than 50 theaters on March 4.
The teaser trailer for The Moment featured clips from many classic films including The Love Eterne、The Young Ones、 Victory、 A City of Sadness、Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon、 and Cape No. 7, reviving the memories of audiences of many generations. Stars including Ivy Ling Po, Brigitte Lin, Jackie Chan, Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, Chow Yun-fat, Andy Lau, Shu Qi, Zhao Wei, and Gwei Lun-mei, as well as renowned directors including Lee Hsing, Hou Hsiao-hsien, Ang Lee, Peter Chan, Stanley Kwan and Jiang Wen all make appearances. We see them offer their sincere gratitude toward the cinema-loving audience.
The Moment presents the stories and memories related to cinema of filmgoers from political leaders to common people. This is not an emotionless historical documentation or newsreel; instead, in addition to first-hand accounts from famous directors and actors on anecdotes and breakthroughs of their days, the film also includes emotional stories from filmgoers. The Moment is a love letter to the Taiwanese audience that brings the magic and nostalgia of cinema across generations.

A tie-in book for The Moment will also be published, documenting the genesis and the making of the film as well as behind-the-scenes material. The book is expected to be available nationwide on February 16 during the Taipei International Book Exhibition. Online preorder begins on February 1. At 4 p.m., February 20 at the Yellow Salon in Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1, there will be a panel by director Yang on the tie-in book for The Moment.
